Where did the under dash lights go?

Just got a 03 d/a from a 94 7.4 and was quite used to the under dash lights that come on with the dome lights. Now you can drop something on the floor at night and cant turn on a light to find it. Did they recently get rid of these lights?

They're probably still on a shelf at the plant.

My '02 has them, but it has an underhood light too, and the '03s don't.

It seems to be that GM is deleting things that you probably wont notice on a test drive, but that become annoying in the long run. Similar to the ommission of a dome light switch on the passenger side in my '91. This is a classic American screw-up...save on the bottom line now at the expence of future loyalty... I thought Detroit learned better from the '70s, but all the management who learned that lesson the hard way has retired now.

And when you think about it, how much could they have possibly saved per vehicle? $25 dollars, tops? What a bunch of imbeciles... :mad: :mad:

You know they are going to put that stuff back on next year and raise the price a couple of grand and tell you about all the "new" features!
