^...You don't, yes, and I wish. I hate being restricted to 2800 RPM. Buy a mini-van if you want to go faster.
whats all this mini van talk? i really don't think they are faster
He means they will run faster than 97 mph, not that they will out accelerate the DMAX. The speed limiter is programed into the CPU and nobody has offered a way to remove it yet. The speed is limited to the speed rating on your tires and this protects GM from liability lawsuits.

I'm regesitered on a couple of ImpalaSS/Caprice forums and have read about a guy who is extremely savy with the GM LT1 engine PCMs. He works all kind of magic wonder if there is any similarity? I might drop him a line. FYI his name is Bryan Herter at this web address:

Ya never know.

Heatbeat Hauler,
If you going to post a URL at least provide a correct one. :D The correct URL is www.pcmforless.com NOT www.pcmsforless.com with and "s" LOL
Don
IIRC there was a thread pertaining to raising the speed limiter to 110 and the rpm to 3400 with a TTS reflash of the computer. I think its around, talk to Kennedy Diesel.

Stretch,
That's for the duramax. dave p has the 8.1.
dave p,
Hang in there; pretty soon there should be 3 or 4 manufacturers supplying programmers for the 8.1.

David
