Drive Shaft

I just saw a 2003 extended cab 2wd with a Duramax Diesel and an Allison transmission. I have read in previous posts that GM was replacing the two piece drive shaft with a one piece unit. This 2003 truck had a two piece unit. Was the problem with the drive shafts on the 2002 models only on certain models or has GM fixed the problem. :confused:

The propeller shaft issues did not include 2wd trucks that I'm aware of. Only long bed or crew cab 4 X 4's.
