I am in the process of doing a new exhaust for my truck ( 96 dually 2wd /auto) and was wondering what people thought of what size down pipe to use. I could either buy a 3" one from kennedy diesel, or make a 3" one or make one that has two 2.5" pipes that would clear the frame and engine easier. The two pipes would them merge back into one 3.5" pipe farther downstream.

Hmmmmm, I can't see fabricating this pipe, for the price of one that will fit the first time. There just isn't much clearance from the turbo down to the flange, wth the heater/firewall etc. But if you have the equipment, time and experience to fabricate this, then I think 3" is enough. Many trucks are smaller comming off the turbo then expand into a 4" system.
Good luck on this. smile.gif
