lift or no lift???

i am new to this forum.

i want to purchase a used 2005 or 2006 4X4 Crew GMC/Chevy Duramax.
i want to know if there is any negative remarks regarding lift kits. does the drivetrain have the potential for excessive wear due to the sharper angle? is there adverse fuel consumption?
any comments please.

Yes, increasing height using the torsion bar adjustment will impact tie-rod and ball-joint life. However, an inch or so shouldn't be a big problem, but 2"+ likely will.

Getting typical life from the various steering and suspension components are best served with a lift.
