I noticed a little play in one of the front wheels the other day. Has anyone replaced the front wheel bearings on a 4 wheel drive yet? Any hints will be helpful, thanks jc

I think play in the wheel means either worn ball joints (if the play is up and down) or worn tie rod ends (if the play is in/and out). Bad wheel bearings just get noisy.

Unless you are really, REALLY handy take that one to a shop, front wheel bearings on a K3500 are not for the faint of heart. You won't believe how much work it takes just to pull the hub.

Like TXag said though...loose is usually not the noticed symptom for wheel bearings, noisy is.

Thanks guys,
It has been noisy for a while, thats why I am concerned after noticing a bit of play in the front hub. I appreciate the info. jc
