Hi everybody,
I just tried to drive my trusty '02. It has sat for about four days. Although the belt is in place and I have power steering fluid, there is absolutely no power steering. There are no leaks and no noise. Do any of you smart guys have ideas? Brakes appear to work (good thing at the bottom of the driveway).
Thanks

Can you feel/hear the PS pump load the engine while trying to turn (sitting still)?

(A bit late in replying-sorry)
The pump was not loading at all throughout the turns. I loaded it on a deck and took it to my dealer (a good one) the next day. We muscled it on and off the deck, off at the dealer, into the bay and .............it worked. They assumed a stuck bypass valve that came free with all the moving? The cost of a new pump was $380c plus install. A friend of mine is a recycler (used to be a junkyard guy, but is richer now) and sold me one from a truck that was rolled on a demo (no miles on it) for $160 and I put it in myself. I pulled the fitting for the bypass valve and saw no obvious damage but may go further with it to keep it as a spare.
Any ideas? Thanks

My guess would be the pressure control valve which is available seperatly but the pump still has to be removed to install it.
