Trying to find specs for a 1999 CC DRW with a 6.5 and a 5 speed. Researching a vehicle that my dad wants to purchase.

Anyone have a trailering guide from this year??

Specifically I'm after
GCWR
GVWR
Approximate Curb Weight

3 dealers I've called haven't got a clue...oh yeah, it'll tow whatever you want.... Whatever, just get the numbers....Know what I mean? So if any of you have a source or have a similar truck yourself, would you PLEASE post.

Thanks a ton.

Sorry, upon reflection...they may not have the specifics...just towing limits.

Thanks anyway. I did check it out. It showed an 8000 lb limit for the weight of a 5th wheel trailer. Sound right?

I used to have a 96' CC K3500 DRW with a 6.5 and 5 speed. That 5 speed is junk. I had to have 2 bearings (5th gear and input) replaced at 2 different times and the 3rd time I replaced the whole unit with a brand new(not rebuilt) tranny. This tranny didn't handle my towing needs. I also had to have the dual mass clutch replaced with a standard unit with the counter weight on the 5th gear. I should have replaced this tranny when the first bearing went out. But how do you know. The first 2 bearing repairs cost me more than the new tranny. $2200 buck. Ouch! I pulled about 25,500 GCVW. My curb weight was 7400lbs on my old truck.

I looked in a trailering guide book for my old truck (1996)the specs for the 3500 with a weight distributing hitch auto or manual trans. max trailer weight 8000 lbs, fifth wheel is also 8000 lbs. The only style 3500 that has higher limits was the 3500 2wd standard cab 8500lbs.. Hope this helps,I don't think they changed the ratings from 1996 to 1999.
