While greasing y truck yesterday I noticed that the rubber stops on the front are almost touching if not actually touching the lower control arms. How far can I adjust the torison bars up before that will effect the alignment?

If you're referring to the yellow "stops" then they're not stops at all. Basically, torsion bar suspensions can't be setup for a "progressive rate" of travel, which coils and leaves can be tuned for. As such, GM has added those rubber bumpers to allow for progressive suspension deflection (better ride). For proper usage they should be in contact.
