Stump the Truck Experts???

I'm looking for a place to mount the air tank
for my air horns. I think I have a great place, but
I have no idea why GM put this sheet metal
plate under the truck. It covers nothing but
more sheet metal and
even has a part number #15035337

supposed to be used for. What does it

Looks like a heat sheild. Maybe thats where a cat would be on a gas truck as they have two.

My guess is a heat shield for either a cat or a muffler on a gasser.
