I took the truck in for the launch shutter and they are going to replace the two piece to the one piece shaft. I asked the tech about the crossarm and he said the only thing they have to cut is the brackets that hold the center support bearing on the crossarm, the crossarm will not be cut off. When you say don't cut the crossarm does this mean don't cut it off the frame????

^...Your service tech is doing the correct thing. Only cut the carrier bearing brackets from the cross member brace, as you stated, Cutting the cross member, as you ask, does mean cutting it on the outside of the carrier bearing brackets, thus leaving two stubs protruding from the frame. The original confusion by some techs was a misleading illustration and directions, on the original TSB. There is a revised TSB that clarifies the correct procedure. You and the service tech are on the right path. smile.gif
