Until I can get to the scales to be certain, does anyone know what my 2001 Chevy D/A 2500HD 4x4 extended cab short box weighs?

The title on my 2002 EC D/A 4x4 says 6216 Unladen weight, or somewhere in that neighboorhood.

I've never had the opportunity to weigh mine, but I've seen many people report weights in the 7,400 to 7,800 pound range for trucks with "typical" added tops, tools, fluids, driver, etc.

Mine tips the scale at 8150# with just me and nothing in the bed. I don't recall how much fuel I had. It was a lot more than I thought it would be.

I have composite rear fenders which I assume weight less that the steel fenders on 2500HDs, but that extra set of wheels and crew cab probably adds it all back and then some.

I have almost identical to yours. With a set of full length fiberglass running boards it weighs 6300 and some change. I weighed it at work where we have a set of state certified scales.

Another site provided this link, which works well for the new Chevy models:

That's a nice site. It only lists one curb wt / configuration (2wd/4wd, etc), not with different engines. I'd assume the 2500HD wts are for the standard 6.0l gas. It states a 4WD, 2500HD, ext cab, standard box as 5659#. We have one at work they get weighed on very good scales when new with a full tank of gas, came to 5742#. That's pretty good if you assume (again) that the websites figures are with 1/2 tank.

Looks like the crew cab adds about 200# and 4WD adds 300#. Lightest 2500 (2wd, reg cab long box) to heaviest 2500 (4wd, cc, lb) is 900#.

I'd like to see what the D/A adds versus the 6.0.

7130 at highways scale with me (150) toolbox (100) and half a tank.

So the 9900 gvw leaves me about another 2770 lbs for legal camper weight.

Must not be very many 2500's with campers within their GVW, eh??

I have a bit more steel with the rollover hitch and the front receiver mount, but with the canopy (topper) on, full fuel, and "she who must be obeyed"(her truck after all), and myself, we are at 7010 lbs.
