Went to the stealer for service today and they started mentioning different service requirments when doing HD trailer towing. I asked them what GM's definition was. Is it based on weight, percentage of mileage vs. towing mileage or ???

They couldn't answer. I've towed an 8,000 lb. trailer for 5% of my total mileage. Does that qualify?

By the way they quoted me $85. for a fuel filter change with filter. $40 for an oil change and $28, for the spin on allison filter.

Whew! Larry

hogbody,

If you have another choice for service, I would go there.

Fuel Filters are available for under $20.
The Allison filter is avaliable for $8.
Oil Filters are available for under $12.
Ten qts. of oil at about $1.45 = $14.50

Heavy duty towing in my opinion is towing over 11,000 lbs. more than 75% of your mileage.

Good Luck, Don
