I have all but abandoned my hopes of mating an MD3070 PT to a salvaged Duramax because I lack the time money and ability to fabricate the necessary equipment. But what about a CAT 3126B from a Chevy6500? Is there a bell housing made for that, that would work.

Do you want to put the Cat in the salvaged Dmax, or do you want to put the MD3070PT behind the Cat in something else?

The former might be even more difficult than your original choice, the latter shouldn't be hard at all - it's a readily available combo from several OEMs.
