Well I saw the first 2003 2500HD in the state of New Mexico. It arrived at CASA Chev in Albuquerque yesterday. It is a base regular cab with a 6.0L.
I don't like it. It has the Avalanche front end with minor changes. The head lights are a little bigger but it uses the same hood as the Avalanche. The front fenders look funny they seem longer between the wheel well and the front bumper than my 2002HD. Now there is no way to tell the difference between the HD and a 1/2 ton. I'm glad I bought a 2002.
My vote is thumbs down.

GMC gets my vote for 2003. I cannot stand the
"Avalance" look on the new Chevy either. YUKKO!

Here's the new GMC:

The auto show pictures had the GMC with big chrome grill slats. Wonder what happened to them or do you get them on a different trim level?

I think they could have come up with a better method of dealing with the HD body height difference.

Yes the GMC sales will increase.....

I saw a 2003 Chevy yesterday on a lot. I do not like it at all.

Were you able to hold your lunch down? :D
I feel sorry for the guys who have to try and sell that thing...

Where's Casa Chevy? I lived in ALb for almost a year and a half. I was down by the base.

I didn't see a big difference in the interior. They claim the IP was redesigned but as far as I could see the gauge cluster looked slightly changed and the steering wheel is sharper and less bulbous in the middle. Kinda like the C/K steering wheels. The heater controls had the dual zone vertical sliders. Good idea. The dash trim looks exactly the same as previous years. This was a base trim model. The seat fabric looked real good. Real durable thick tweed.

Taillights...... Look nice. They are not LED. I think Dmax-man said something about LED taillights. Must be the GMC's. Haven't seen a GMC yet.

I don't like the way the fenders look on the Chevy. Someone said before about the larger area up front between the wheel well and bumper.

Hey, just my personal opinion. Looks are for your own eyes to judge.

Jim;
CASA Chev is on the north east corner of Lomas and Louisiana.

One other thing I noticed in the interior is that it lost one power port has two instead of three now. I use all three of mine.
