Using resistor to increase glow plug cycle time

I sure would appreciate some feedback on my thread concerning using a 5 watt 2.2 ohm resistor to increase my glow plug cycle time. I am sure that some of the DP members out there have been there and done that.

The resistor should be a 5-ohm 2-watt....
