On my '01 2500 the tailgate latch travels a long ways before catching and unlatching. Is there a way to adjust this?
THANKS!

I suspect GM considered a healthy latch engagement as an added safety feature. You could shorten the actuator rods inside the tailgate, but it could make it a little less safe. Perhaps a better approach would be to increase the radius of the tailgate latch control levers to increase their throw, producing less handle lift (but with more effort) to unlatch.
