You more then likely need a NSBU .... It's is the gear selector on the drivers side of the transmission ...

could tell you how to manually put it into park but for "safety"factors I'll abstract ... If you look at it and remove the shift cable you can figure it out I'm sure .... I've drove around plenty with one that was failing ... You could just keep trying eventually it will find park .....
Hopefully you have time to get one, part # (if you have 4WD). 29540479 .....

Makin that is the problem is it worth doing my self or using the warranty with the $100 deductible?

jfile,

The Allison is only covered under the 3yr/36kmi warranty. The 5yr/100k mi warranty with $100 deductable (after 3/36)is only on the engine. Do a search in the 2500HD/3500 HD Trucks & Drivetrain forum for "NSBU" for more info. If you do change the NSBU switch look for the improved "brown" one. I believe they are also available from Allison dealers for less than the GM price... You could also contact DmaxAllitech (Eric).

Found out what it was. It was the CABLE ASM part # 15150103. This is the cable that attaches directly to the shifting lever. Its weird it was kinked. Looks like a design flaw, hope it doesn't happen again. Just got it off, hope the GM dealer has one because if not I guess I can shift by hand. Thanks for the help guys.
