I currently have LT215/65R16 Range E tires on my 2001 3500HD 4x4 with about 70,000 miles on them. Since its time for new tires, I am looking for recriminations on what to purchase that has worked for others. I would like to up the tire size but due to the truck being a 2001 and its associated lug bolt sizes, upping the tire size and the potential use of spacers on the duel real wheels is a bit of concern. Any suggestions?

Well, if money is no object then I would suggest these as an awesome upgrade:(Note: wheels not included)

If you don't want to change wheels, I'm afraid you may be stuck with stock size tires, anything wider and you run the risk of rubbing between the duals under load (excess heat = Kaboom!)

Just for my curiosity, what kind of tires did you get 70,000 miles on.

Thanks,

we run 235/85-16 courser c/t's on the 2001 3500 4x4 dumptruck without any rubbing issues at all

truck weighs 9000lb+ empty (which it never is) and often 20000 with a load. sometimes with a trailer too.

no problems with these tires, traction is good, price is great, wear seems to be ok.

best tire i've tried overall is bridgestone's revo. can't say enough good about it!
