Howdy,
Am preparing to change my wheels and am looking for some advice and potential manufacturer names.
Have a 2001 Chevy Dmax/Allison with 265 75R 16 tires. Want to go to a durable wheel with high weight rating. Friends are adivising me to go with aluminum. Just need some good info. Am towing a heavy fiver. Thanks in advance.

Not that it helps but I eventually want to do the same. There are a lot of 8 lug wheels rated at 1800# which is scary. I weighed my rear axle at 6400# with my trailer.

Alcoa makes a nice wheel with a high load rating, but limited sizes. Weld and Centerline also make high load rated wheels. $$$$

4.5" is the lowest amount of backspacing that will fit with 285's on a 8" wide rim and not stick out past the flares.
