Kind of a dumb question but, with the Duramax, how do the controls work? I remember the old gasers had a vacuum manifold behind the dash with a slide valve in it. Is there a vacuum pump? (Don't remember seeing one on the motor.) Do they use servo motors to switch the vents around? Just wondering.

Steve,

They've been using servo motors since 1988.

More Power - Sorry it was in the Duramax forum. Thought that it might be Duramax specific as there is no vacuum.

Thanks hoot. Since 1988? Been too long since I had a new truck. I wonder how many motors are in these new trucks?

I believe the 88-98's had three. I don't know about the new ones. BTW: they are quite reliable.

And in case you didn't know, there is no cable between the throttle and the engine. It's an electronic (drive-by-wire) throttle. They have been that way since '94.
