Hello all. I would like your opition on this subject. I have a Step Van that weights in at 9600 pounds. I have a 6.5l GMC diesel that moves this weight along fairly well. I have install the Kennedy coolant improvements only as a reliability issue. I heard that turbo charging a diesel will give you better mileage? I'm looking to get a little more power for hills and getting out of peoples way, plus better mileage. Is the mileage true? Would I be sacrificing reliability for power?

I hope I wasn't rambling, it's late and I need to get up at 5:30 and get the business running.

Thanks,
David

More Power

Generally, turbos help fuel economy when installed in vehicles that "require" more power. A laboring engine is not the most efficient.

Turbocharging can reduce exhaust and engine temperatures - improving reliability.
