Over the past month or two my truck has developed the old clunky clunk when starting and stopping. I can't actually hear anything, but I defintely feel it. If I crawl under the truck, I can rotate the driveshaft back and forth a little bit...is this normal?

Past posts about this have mentioned the dealers lubing the driveshaft at the transfer case with some special very sticky grease (usually a temporary fix)...anyone have this problem lately and get the grease job? It's starting to get annoying now.

Isn't there some kind of update to do with the yoke? I thought I had that done on my 01. The dealer fixed it but I am not certain what the remedy was.

THERE IS A **SPECIAL GREASE** THAT GETS APPLIED TO JOKE SPLINES THAT STOPS THIS. FOR HOW LONG??? THERE WAS A UPDATED JOKE FOR SOME TRUCKS,WOULD NEED TO CONTACT DEALER. I GREASED MINE SOMETIME AGO SO FAR SO GOOD.THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH LEAF SPRING TRUCKS NOT JUST GM. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU

I cleaned and greased mine over a year ago with Mobil 1. It was dry. I have not had a thud, clunk, etc. since. Later! Lone Eagle ;)
