Torque converter?

Recently I have been getting a shudder when I get into 5th at low rpm's and try to accelerate from there. It usually happens at about 47 mph and goes away when I let off or give it enough gas. Is this maybe a bad torque converter or is there somthing else that can cause this? It seems to be getting worse as I go too, shudder gets more powerful.

I didn't know that the 6.5 had an auto 5 speed option.

If its a D/A then yes it sounds like a TC. Mine did that for about 5K miles before it snapped a lug off the TC face. Then leaked like a sive.

There have been a very few problems with the TC not being mounted properly and causing vibration/breakage.

If so take it to a dealer and at least get it documented. Convertor is about 2 grand to swap for new.

Sounds like your TC to me as well. It might be having trouble unlocking.
