Was looking at my tires today and noticed that the front tires had about 3/8 inch of tread looked at the back they had about 3/16 tread left. The truck only has 7400 miles on it. Did take a 2200 mile trip with 5er. Can't see that cuasing that much wear. Or the brigstones on it are really cheap? Any ideas or thoughts? thanks JD

i have 7200 on mine and its the same way, the back tires are worn down a noticeable amount. I probably only have towed about 2000 miles of the 7000.

If you're running 80 psi in the rear tires unloaded, they'll wear much faster, especially in the centers. Unloaded you can run 45 or 50. I run 55 in the front and 60 in the rear and they wear about the same. I'll pump them up when I load up.

If your towing on curved roads the rear tire will see a lot more wear than the front, especially if you are on mountain roads.

good luck

The tire wear is flat and perfect. going to rotate them this week end and maybe start looking for some 265's. JD ;)

I have scrubbed off a set of rears duallys on truck #3 - mostly towing miles - and have nearly 50% tread left in the front. Must be the heavy tongue weights, or my heavy right foot???
