For those of you who have installed EGT and Boost gauges with a stock system, what are your levels at a steady 65 MPH? Since just installed my gauges(EGT - pre turbo) I am trying to figure out optimal highway performance, and simply a gauge to know what is normal other than max temps of 1250 degrees and max boost levels of 22 psi. I have noticed at 65 MPH, approx 550 deg and 2.5 psi on level surface. Of course that varies with any change in the go pedal or a slight incline/decline, etc. Idle is at 280-360 deg.
I will be making a trip to CA next week and this will give me an opportunity to see what the differences are in MPG based on driving habits.
Thanks.

Don

truck driven at interstate speed (no trailer) EGT (post turbo) temps run 450 to 650 (have never seen over 800 and in that area only a few times when going up a very steep grades) depending on air temperature and mountain/flat land road .... boost 2-4 most of the time but depending on the road grade can certainly go to 10 .... have found that using cruise control keeps both numbers higher and burns considerably more fuel (as compaired to not using the cruise over the same roads and under pretty much the same conditions) has cost me 1-2 mpg

I have my EGT Tapped just below the manifolds in the down pipe with a Vampire Clamp.

I have seen 300 deg. at idle and 450 or so cruising at 55-65 with the same 2.5 to 5 psi boost.

When I got my foot in her and "DA JUICE" at level 4 and empty truck I see 650 -800 degrees.

No Problems so far. :D

With my CA truck stock i see about 700 EGT cruising at 70 MPH in 90* weather, with boost around 2-3 psi. towing my 8500 lb boat runs about 900 EGT and 5 PSI at 70 MPH
