Well, I finally read enough scary posts on how badly our fluid needs changing, and decided to see for myself.
I found the fluid, and magnet incredibly clean!
There was just a little metalic sludge on the magnet. I checked and it seems to be a pretty strong magnet.
The fluid was black, as normal, and instead of the burn't smell I usally experience, it smelled like grapes! I thought everyone was joking about that.
My conclusion is that this synthetic fluid is really good stuff, and it was a waste of money and a saturday afternoon to change it.
It's almost a shame as this is the easiest one I've ever done.
From what I saw today, I think this rearend is going to last a incredibly long time.
