Ordering new D/A soon. Does anyone know how the ride compares K3500 srw vs K2500?? Price difference if optioned identically?? Any major option differences that can't be had on one vs the other?? I assume engine tuneing or power and trans shifting is the same 3500 vs 2500. Thanks all, great forum. bob....

What I've found out so far is that: The 3500 SRW only comes in long boxes. I don't think you will be able to tell the difference between the two concerning ride quality. 3500 SRW has a GVW of 9900lbs the 2500HD is 9200lbs GVW. Not sure on price, because the 3500 SRW is what I want and didn't price a 2500HD. Although, I have been thinking Dually lately....

The only differences that I have found are the 3500 SRW has 3 stage leaf springs in the back like the duallys. The 2500HD has the 2 stage leaf springs. The 3500 SRW has a sticker inside the door that states 9900lbs GVW. Painted steel wheels with 265/75/16 tires. OH, I almost forgot, the 3500 decal on the outside of the doors. 3500 SRW available in long box only.

The 2500HD and 3500 drivetrain is identical.

Everything is as clear as mud now, Right! :D ;)

Thanks, Buck. No aluminum wheel option??? Have been priceing K2500 CC LB DA LT, but started to think about K3500 srw. Need to talk to dealer but hoped to have a little info straight first. Dealer is ok, (small dealer) service manager is a friend and is allowed to order vehicles, but sometimes is not on top of options etc. He is lot easier to get along with than any salesman I have known. Not to cast ill will on all salespeople but service writer answers to dealer principal and deal structure has been on table for months just waiting on me.

I'm pretty sure the PYO is available on GMBUYPOWER.COM. Time will tell when they start arriving on the back of the car haulers at the dealer's lots! Other option is to find a nice used set. I'm sure there are some around for a decent price.

I heard about them coming out this year and might have considered one except for the long box thing. I wanted an extended cab short box so I got the 2500HD. Are they really not going to let you get the aluminum wheels on the 3500?
