Can anybody tell me how to set this correctly? I put it in Neutral, parking brake to the floor. Rolled as if no brake was there.

Is there a problem with this? Recall maybe?

Thanks!!

I assume the '01 Suburban has 4-wheel disk brakes. If so, crawl under the rear of the vehicle, and have someone set/release the parking brake a couple of times. This'll verify whether the cables and actuators are functioning.

The parking brakes used on rear disk brakes is a small drum and shoes (inside the rotor) similar to the regular drum/shoes used in drum brake setups. You may only need an adjustment.

I find it interesting that GM is reverting back to rear drums on its pickups. I had heard that non-use of the parking brake over time and when exposed to road salt, etc can affect its use. Given this bit of info, it might be wise to use the parking brake occasionally, to keep everything working and help keep the drum surfaces from rusting to a point that it affects braking.
