Just got back from a short weekend trip to Arizona. Woke up Sunday morning, checked the Arizona Republic classifieds, and found the following. I am flying back to drive it home this weekend. Candidate for a 6.5???

WOW! What a clean truck!

I dearly love the classic 1967-1972 Chevy trucks (I own two).

The lovely thing about the Southwest...little or no rust!

The guy in the picture is the seller. He has owned her since 1972! Most years were in Colorado, last few in Arizona.

Truck was restored in 2002. New GM crate motor, rebuilt transmission, rebuilt transfer case, rebuilt 3.73 rear end, repainted factory stock colors (copper and cream), disc brake conversion from '84 Blazer added up front, new interior with sound deadening insulation and a headliner on the hardtop.

I would get a 3.9 Cummins for it.

I agree with Joey D either a 3 or 4 cyl cummins would be a good fit.

Personally, I'd put something like this in it. ;)

I love that engine. That engine was designed in America and carries and American name...gotta have respect for that.

Somebody quick, get that man some mental help for wanting to sell that cool unit. I agree More Power put that engine in it and keep her all GM. The GM trucks and blazers in them years are darn sure collector items and are hard to find in that good of shape. WOW

Got home last night with the Blazer. ~1800 miles in ~42 hours. It never missed a beat and delivered 12-13mpg even though I rolled along at 70-75mph most of the time on 31" rubber and 3.73 gears - about 3K RPM on the Sun Tach.

As for the diesel swap, I think I'll leave her stock...however a big block 427 would sure make her snort!!!
