Your mileage could be higher than you think if you haven't recalibrated your odometer for the big tires.

I get 17-18 with my 1500. Not 4wd though. I cant remember what gears I have. Too early this morning. The speed you drive will make a difference in mileage too. Just a little around town driving brings it down.

as mentioned, speed will greatly affect milage,if i run at a constant 55 all day i can run right at 26-27 but just bumping up to 60 can drop me 2 mpg,and push 65-70 and she drops another 1 1/2 to 2 .

I have a 98 HD 2500 4X4 Ex cab with 4.10 gears. 14.5-15 on a good day. Of course, there's always a trail of soot following me ;)

There is a number of things that affect MPG's. I noticed when I changed injectors MPG's went back up also when I was able to get the boost back when I found vacum lines K-broken. Exhaust, gears, driving speed and fuel quality & grade (winter blend & #1) Also plugged soot trap. Some guys also have said that when they go to over size tires their MPG drop due to more rolling friction and wind drag.

'99 K2500
NV4500
3.73's
245/75/16's

My truck usually gets around 17 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. Best was 21.5 mpg.

the soottrap is the cat? because they just clean out my intake and it was LOADED WITH SOOT so does that mean the soot trap should be clogged TOO if so how do you clean it out
