Hi All,

Hope someone can help me out. I got my rear wiring stuff for my 99 K2500 Burb. Searched the Internet for wiring diagram for the truck side. I found 2 sites giving great schematics but they conflict. I'll be using the truck to tow car trailers with 7 wire connectors. Maybe one of the following is incorrect or maybe there is no standard.

The following are 2 sites I found that have conflicting wiring schematics. Can someone tell me which is correct or point me to a correct site?

I'm so damn confised...

Thanks,
Art.

When you take the plug apart to attach the wires to the terminals, it should have the colors listed on each terminal.

Here is the correct color code chart for the 7-way RV circuit:

Black: 12 volt charge line
White: Ground
Red: left turn
Green: marker (tail) lights
Blue: brake (from brake controller)
Brown: right turn

The only unmarked terminal is the center one. This is for backup lights, usually yellow.

These colors are for the terminals, not for the wires found on your truck.

For example, you would hook your orange hot wire to the "black" terminal on the plug.

You would hook your blue brake wire to the "blue" terminal on the plug.

You would hook your right turn wire to the "brown" terminal on the plug.

etc, etc.

The confushion may be because there are two standards. One is for highway trucks and the other is for RV's.

The diagrams in question are mirrors of each other. It seems to me one is looking at the wire end and the other at the business end of the plugs.
