I had a salesman tell me that GM only advertises their GVWR and GCVWR at 80% of their capacities. Fact or Fiction? Anyone know for sure? Thanks

If you believe that, dont go to my service rep. and tell him your rig is more than 12000lb for a tt. cause it wont get fixed for free.

maybe its only in Canada

Not sure about the 80% thing, but my truck weighs in at 6931 empty, the GVWR is 9900 pounds, and max combined weight is 22,000 pounds (truck & Trailer)
I weigh in at 20360 pounds loaded, axle weights are all well within the limits set forth by GM and Holiday Rambler. smile.gif

Thanks It would be a safe bet to think this; I mean if I were GM I would make sure that I had understated max capacities as there is always some numbsk....er guy....that will overload beyond logic. :D Also, not everyone is gonna weigh their rigs to insure they are within ratings. It's just good insurance and do-dilligence on GM's part. IMHO of course.
