Just bought 06 Silverado Duramax Diesel-with 6 speed. My friends all have chips in there diesels and love them. What is the best chip to get and how many miles do I need on the motor?

The 06 has changed engine control systems quite dramatically. The ECM is now programmed by Bosch so it may be a while before anything is available.

The exhaust looks to be the same with the exception being the connection behind the cat has changed. A full exhaust SHOULD work, but as for emissions codes etc, you just don't know until you try it. The CA trucks wil be the worst.

I guess I'd suggest that you wait and let someone else do the initial testing.

I hope you got the NEW 360 HP engine. Chevy put out the new tranny but they are still sliding the 05 engine in until the new one is out.

I just read that there isnt a chip ready for the2006 yet. also if you read the posts going back for the last 4 years people are still having lots of problems modifying GMs software especially when towing.
