I'm wondering what to expect towing a 6000ilb (loaded, wet) 22ft 5th with my 02 d/a ec sb 4wd. Anyone towed this lite?

Thanks,
Paul

It's more about wind resistance than weight with a trailer like this.

Towing my 8000lb 22' enclosed race trailer with a V-nose I get a consistent 10.5-11mpg on flat ground at about 62 mph.

That is what I get pulling my 32' 10500# 13'high 5th wheel under the same conditions.

Yeah, its a fact. It doesn't take that much power to keep the extra weight moving on level surfaces, but that wind resistance is just like going uphill all the time. A good analogy, the faster you go the steaper the hill gets. That 62 mph is the sweet spot on a DM/A. Wind drag it the culpret that kills fuel mileage. Anything you can do the reduce the drag, will help improve the mileage.

JD Diesel, I have an '03 D/A, Xcab, LWB, 2wd that I use exclusively for pulling my 33ft 5'r that weighs in at roughly 13K. I was consistantly getting 9.5 mpg for the first 22K miles. Last month I installed the Quadzilla Stealth tuner, and took a 3,000 mile trip from Florida to Iowa. With the Quad set on the 70 HP level, I averaged 12mpg. There are some fairly good sized hills/mountains in northern Georgia and southern Tennessee, and for probably 2,200 miles of the 3,000, it held 5th gear all the time. EGT's hit 1200 on a few of the long/steep pulls, but other than that, stayed in the 600-900 range.
