Hitch Ratings

Can anyone tell me what rating my hitch is on my suburban? i have a 96 GMC suburban, 2500 4wd, and a diesel. The ratings sticker is partially painted over, but it does say something to the tune of rating, 5000 lbs, weight distrubting, 10,000 lbs. I think it is the factory hitch. Thanks

If it says 5000/10000 lbs, then it is 5000 lbs trailer weight with a 500 lb tongue weight. 10000 lbs trailer weight with 1000 lb tongue weight only with a weight distribution system. It is a standard type hitch. They make bigger and stronger hitches but the price goes up as well. Good luck. John
