Hi Dr. Lee,

As I recall, you've created a custom air cleaner for your truck which allows more airflow into your NA 6.2. I even seem to remember an article somewhere about it but I cannot remember where I read about it! Are details of your design available somewhere? I've searched the forums and site but came up empty.

Thanks.

Click on the link in my signature block, and you will see some general pics of my truck and engine. There are two shots of the air cleaner. I split the original one horizontally, pop-riveted in a band of sheet steel to expand it two inches vertically, and fabricated the conical transition piece for the 4" hose. It takes a pair of Fram CA136 filters, or a single Amsoil 14" x 6" round filter (thanx to GREG (http://www.lubricationspecialist.com/)).

There are no plans available; that was several computers and software upgrades ago. Feel free to copy or modify the concept.

If you are not much into fabricating, you can find some dual inlet air cleaners here - www.ramairbox.com. (http://www.ramairbox.com.)

How about putting a 6.5TD intake hose on a 6.2 and run the remote cone style filter.

Will the 6.5 air cleaner hose fit on the 6.2 intake manafold?

I made one with a hmmwv manifold a 6" drain basin which runs 4" abs over to a cone type filter over the 4" abs stem, cost about 15$ in parts so far not including the filter, future plans are to run a 12"x 14" x10" drain basin box bolted in the front passenger fender well where the front batt used to be. this will be routed to cool outside air with another opening into the fenderwell so I can block off the cool air should I need to.
