A few years ago my '84 master cylinder would leak a drop of fluid on the toe of my boot each time I pushed in on the brake. I got a kit from GM parts. It had every seal in it except the one that goes on the operating rod. It is a seal that is round like a "O" ring but is flat sided on inside and outside. It is not included in the kit and nowhere could I find one. I had to buy a rebuilt unit from NAPA exchange for around $110.Evidently GM does't want us peons overhauling brake systems they think they might be liable for.

Depending on the type of MC, the kit may be available on aftermarket too. I was able to purchase a rebuild kit for my Delphi cylinder from Delphi through a local parts house.

The aluminum cylinders tend to score, probably better off with a new/remanufactured complete in that case.
