I remember reading something about a circuit board that controls the windshield wipers. I remember it being a chronic problem on many 6.5 suburbans ( i have a 1994 6.5l Diesel). My wipers will sometimes not turn on when the truck is started and when I hit a bump they will come on. Suddenly they did'nt come on for a long ride and now they need to be fixed. However I parked the truck with the wiper switch on and 8 hours later they turned on when i started it.
My mechanic is clueless and I need HELP!!!!!

Thanks

If you look at the wiper motor, it has a black plastic cover, pull that cover and there is a circuit board inside. The solder on the ground circuit cracks and doesn't always make contact. You can have it repaired at an electronics repair shop ($25), buy just the board (approx. $100) or the entire motor(approx $270). That's what it was on my '93. I found out about the repair from a cousin who had the same problem, they only paid $25, I paid the $100. Good luck. John

Would I be eligible for this recall. My truck is almost 10 years young???

Thanks

George
I would say yes I had a 94 K2500 it would have been covered. It is a recall that they really don't want people to know about. Good Luck

Does GM have a website that shows the recalls? My '93 wiper motor was causing me trouble a couple years ago and I just cleaned the connections in the black box and its worked fine ever since. But if there is a recall, I sure would like to get a new one.

Juat call your dealer and give him your VIN#. He will be able to tell you. I have a '94 2500HD with a wiper motor that works when it wants to, but truck wasn't covered under warranty :(

I have a 96 and it was just recalled for the wiper,so I think you would stand a good chance because it is a safety problem.
