I found a place to buy fuel filters for the 6.5TD and others $6.07 luberfiner or fleetguard. I'll be selling the web address, just kidding its filterbarn.com

Have you/do you use them? do they meet spec? 6 Bucks beats 25 every day of the week if they are a good filter.

At any rate thanks for the info, I'll be investigating further.

I wonder if they have a store. The address is only about 10 miles from here.
I might drive past there in the morning to see.

I suggest caution here. This retailer is a Fram distributor. I had some correspondence with them regarding a hard to locate filter. Their response was that filter doesn't cross to a Fram #, so they couldn't help me.

The site is sorta' misleading. An ordered filter, regardless of brand you choose, will most likely be substituted with a Fram compatible, or less likely, a Fleetguard.

Any of you that know the quality standards of Fram products will understand my caution.

Every 6.5 fuel filter I've ever seen is a Stanadyne filter. Only thebox gets changed. Even the Frams. However, $6.00 is so much less than most ($12-15, IIRC) that it is suspect until seen. If it's genuine it'll say "Stanadyne" right on the body.
