I have a 1994 Suburban 6.5 TD. The glow plug circuit does not work. My mechanic say's it's not the relay. I said I would trouble shoot it myself. Is there a wiring diagram available? Is there a sensor that contols how long the relay closes for? If I use a jumper cable to the glow plug side of the relay the light comes on the the plugs heats so I know all is well on that side of the relay and there is 12volt on the other side.

What are your thoughts???

Thanks

Paul and Sue - You might want to post this on the 6.5 forum, and do a search on Glow Plug controllers over there, also. The search feature is in the upper right corner of the page. Dr. Lee specializes in the 6.2 N/A's , although he's a font of knowledge on a myriad of topics.

Check the member's area for any trouble shooting articles.

The Glow cycle time is partially controlled by a temp sensor in the head - driver's side(I believe).

If you go to the online Troubleshooting Manual on www.thedieselpage.com, (http://www.thedieselpage.com,) you will find a chapter devoted to your style of glow circuit, with a diagram. This will help you greatly in diagnosing your situation.

Thanks for the info, a diagram would certainly help. However I can't seem to find the online troubleshouting manual. Where can I find this in the Diesel Page?

Here is the link:
94+ 6.5 Glow Systems (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/guide14.htm)

Keep in mind however that this is in the members area.

Where would the 20amp fuse be located?
