Hello!
I have developed a code reader for the 94-95 6.5TD. You can download it for free on my site http://www.engh.com/

With GMTDScan Basic you can read and clear DTCs... both historic and current. Just for the fun of it I have also included a little dashboard with coolant, rpm, speed and turbo boost guages. Check out my site for screenshots and download smile.gif

You will need a 8192 baud ALDL interface cable and a PC with a COM port to connect to your truck. Any 8192 baud interface will work. If you currently don't own a cable you can purchase one on my site.

Now that the basic version is completed and the website is published I have started working on GMTDScan Professional. It is going to be the full featured version of GMTDScan. Stuff that I will include in that version is the ability to view live data from all available ECM sensors, unlimited recording of data logs, playback of previously recorded data logs and so on.

Now go to my website, http://www.engh.com/, and have a look at GMTDScan Basic :D

Great!

Now, what we're all waiting for (for the professional version) is the ability to do a TDC learn on the 94/95's.

Will I be able to use the same ALDL Interface Cable when the GMTDScan Professional comes out?

There is nothing magical about the interface. It just translates "car talk" to "computer talk". My interface can be used with all available ALDL PC scansoftware out there, like TTS DataMaster, WinALDL and so on, not just GMTDScan.

If you feel up to it you can even fabricate one yourself. There are several plans floating around the internet. Just spend some time with Google and you will be set smile.gif

Here's one of them... http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/aldl8192/8192hw.htm

I will not answer anymore questions regarding the software or interface in this thread. The forum moderators wants to limit the potentially commercial postings in the forums and I respect that. For any questions or suggestions please contact me through this webpage, http://www.engh.com/contact/default.aspx.

This is not the effect we were looking for. I hope that Stefan and interested parties will continue to use this topic as a sounding board for features, fixes and enhancements to Stefan's project.

Meanwhile, please see this link (http://www.thedieselpageforums.com/tdpforum/showthread.php?t=21850) for guidelines going forward.

The link does not work, where do I need to go for guidelines?

I have a version of GMTDScan due for release shortly. A beta goes out to a select few the upcoming week.
The development of the pro version is taking forever so I figured I'd get something inbetween the basic and the pro version, in terms of functionality, out there. Yes, it does have TDC Time Set/Learn :)

Hello Stefan-
Did you see this :

Please continue your efforts ...

Stefan, is there any chance this program would run on a Win 95 or Win 98 laptop?

Thanks for your work!

I fixed the link (in both posts) It was pointing to a thread in the old forum.

(Tom Mac had it right anyhow...)
