Does anybody of adapters to put a 6.2 or a 6.5 into a 1978/1979 Ford Truck or Bronco?

I had a 6.2 diesel in a 1974 F-100.

It had an NP-435 tranny. I was able to adapt a Chevy bellhousing the the tranny, and used a Ford clutch plate along with the Chevy flywheel and pressure plate (as the Ford tranny pilot shaft is smaller... it's about the same length, though).

The motor mounts will wind up close the the Ford frame perches, and only a little cutting and welding is required there. I used the older-style Chevy mounts (this was YEARS ago), but welding plates to the Ford mounts for the newer-style Chevy mounts would be simple enough.

I still have it all, but it's in pieces. I could post a picture of the tranny and bellhousing, if you'd like.

If you want to use a Ford automatic, that could probably be done, too, as there are adapters to put a Ford tranny behind a Chevy engine, and the 6.2 shares the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the BBC and SBC gassers, so those adapters would fit the diesel. You would need to use the 6.2 flexplate, as it is counterweighted, and you would have to drill and/or shim to fit the Ford convertor to the 6.2 flex plate.

Or, you could use a Chevy slushbox, and a (241?) transfer case (assuming it's a 4X4) from a 1988 or newer Chevy that would have the front driveshaft on the driver's side.
