Does anyone have the GM part number for a 98-2000 6.5 oil pump?.
This is supposed to be the big H/D pump for the piston oiler blocks.
Thanks, Merle

Merle,
Not to be a PIA, but i recall john8662 or Kent may have posted this a few months back. Might try a search by member number, if no one comes up with the number otherwise....

If you haven't found it yet, here is the number for the 98+ oil pump: 12564768

do you guys think this style pump will be okay in a non-oil spray block? I was thinking about using one in a engine I'm fixing to rebuild.

Yes, this pump works fine in an non piston oil cooler engine. I installed one in my 95 K2500 burb with a 6.5. This oil pump is a higher volume pump, still runs approximately the same pressure as the original pump that came in the 82-92 6.2's and 92-96 6.5TD's. This pump runs slightly higher pressure on the gauge, around 55-65 psi cold, and 35psi hot, not much more pressure, than the original pumps did.

The Diesel Depot, a highly recommended engine rebuilder, installs them in all their custom 6.5 rebuilds. It's my choice for an oil pump in the 6.5TD, especially if this is going to be a worked engine!
