when my truck was ordered i talked to a QC guy at the assembly line(on the internet).
i gave him my order # and he said he would keep an eye out for it..well he got me a date give or take a day..but that was it..he gave me a horror story about getting too close to a customer..seems like guys were ordering bottom of the line trucks and when the guys at the factory seen this truck comming, they would load it up with all the options..i guess this went on for some time....
anyway, you wont get much more that a date..then it sits out side waiting for a train..mine took about 2 months to get.

E-mail Howard. He's the man! He has the connections. He told me exactly what was going on, and at what state of build it was in within the system. I new what day it would be delivered before the dealer did, and even where the truck was.

Does anyone know what the tpw really is ? The start on finish date ?

It's just what it says. The week it is tentatively scheduled to be built. And in the early days, they really meant tentative. They were often pushed back. Once you get past the TPW and it's broadcast to the plant for production, you have something. That means all the parts/options are at the plant and being put out on the line so it can be built. Somewhere on here there is/was a list of all the production codes. I searched but could not find it.

Some of the many production codes. These were posted on one of the "Pages" some time ago. Your dealer should be able to get them. I believe Howard can also to monitor your truck, if he has the SON and/or TPW.

1100-Order submitted by dealer
1101-Order accepted by GM
2001-Order generated to dealer
2005-Order replaced with GM Prospec order
2050-Order changed
2500-Order sent to production, preferenced
3000-Order accepted by production control
3100-Order available to sequence (now the TPW becomes more stable)
3400-Order broadcast for production
3800-Vehicle produced
4150-Vehicle invoiced to dealer
4200-Vehicle shipped
5000-Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000-Vehical delivered to customer
6010-Vehical delivery change
