Hi-

Sorry if this is a already asked question. Lets say I had my hands on a duramx diesel from a 2003 sierra along with the allison tranny. Could I put this in a yukon XL of the same year? Has anyone this before? Is it a easy switch?

Thanks,
Dave

Easy is a relative term.... :)

A 2" body lift, then add all of the diesel specific parts (wiring harnesses, ECM/TCM/TCCM, radiator, intercooler, fan shroud, IP Cluster, fuel tank sender package & fuel lines, etc....

Thanks for the reply. So the frame of the sierra and the yukon are the same which makes it an easy swap? Do you have experience with this type of switch?

We produced a Member Area article a while ago for a Duramax Suburban (http://www.thedieselpage.com/members/duramax/dmaxburb.htm).

Of course, we also produced a slightly more difficult conversion.... with Lil Red (http://www.thedieselpage.com/features/project2-16.htm). :D

Thanks, I'll check out those links.

Can you or anyone recomend any shops here on the east coast that could do jobs like this?

I think www.dieselsuburbans.com (http://www.dieselsuburbans.com) is in FL. At one time, they had a link to a custom shop that did Duramax conversions.
