Rear Gear

My 96 chev rear end is trying to stay locked up ,
i changed the oil and it helped for a while but it is doing it again.
Any IDEAS :confused: :confused:

Mine did that for maybe a year,and then stopped.....The noise not the truck.The rear gear oil needs to be replaced much more often than a regular gearset.Mine only did it when it was driven for a while and things warmed up a little, how about yours?

What type of gear oil are you using?

If you aren't already using synthetic lube, give it a try. Synthetic has helped a lot of rear end issues on high milers.

Also, do not use "limited slip" additives. It doesn't have one.
