my 2002 tow haul is acting up only way i can select tow haul is now in park anyone else had this scanned for codes were none

The only issues I've heard of involve a failed (broken wire) harness from the switch to the column. This would be consistent with your experience. It wouldn't throw a code, unless it were continually closed, or grounded.

Pull the covers off the steering column and I bet you'll find the 2 small wires that run into the gear lever have either rubbed through or broken. This is a VERY common issue.
