I have a few questions.

1. Why is my truck smoking at idle?

2. What does it mean on the Diablo Predator when it reads the following on the Data tool:

At idle
0.4ms PWM cyl 1
0.3ms pwm cyl 2
0.0ms pwm cyl 3
0.3ms pwm cyl 4
0.3ms pwm cyl 5
0.4ms pwm cyl 6
0.3ms pwm cyl 7
0.4ms pwm cyl 8

balancing rate
1.45 mm cyl 1
-1.22mm cyl 2
-7.81mm cyl 3
-0.66mm cyl 4
-2.33mm cyl 5
2.08 mm cyl 6
0.30mm cyl 7
2.30mm cyl 8

14.2psi map
177degree ect
5.28 lb\m maf

34.00 MPa desired fuel rail pressure
34.18 actual

-3.01 degree main injection timing
0.94mm pilot injection
4.06 main injection
2400-2500 frp regulator
3.24 pilot injection
1254.5MA desired FRP regulator
1241.0MA actual

Thanks,
I let it idle overnight and look what happened. Now at idle I get light blue smoke at idle. Sometimes white.

How do you fix that? Can I do it myself?

If you let it idle overnight, you could have one or more injectors that are fouled. This could cause it to hang, just long enough to delay timing and cause the imbalance. It could also be prevented from closing completely, and dribbling, causing smoke. You could try a good injector cleaner. If it's fouled, the cleaner and good hard running might clean it up. Other than that, injector replacement is the only option. If you are asking, it's probably going to be a dealer only (or very good shop) repair. You may get warranty coverage for the repair under the 7 year/200K warranty. 2003's aren't specifically covered, but several have been done this way.

Thank you for you replys. I smell diesel fuel in the oil. My fuel mileage went down MAJOR. The truck is parked until I can get an answer.

Any advise on getting GM to help me on my repairs? I have a good friend that offered to purchase the parts at cost for me to do the repairs. They just did it on an 02 where he works.

The reason I am asking is that I am disabled, and using my truck to deliver cars to make ends meet. This is all that I am able to do right now and it is a major problem for me.

If you have fuel in the oil you need injectors. Work the dealer angle first to see if they will cover it totally under the 7yr 200K warrenty. As Dmaxmavrick has said some 03s have been included.

Rick:
Check out Cabletech's post over on the 6600 threads. He has just posted there under your "Begging for Help" topic. Very interesting because I also have an "03".
