Has anyone done anything with a by-pass oil filter? I've thought about installing one on my 04.5 D-max but just haven't made the leap. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I just installed one on my 04.5, the bracket that Greg from http://www.lubricationspecialist.com/ is a must have. With in the next day or so I can post a few pictures. I'm very pleased with the product.

Many folks here in the forum have added bypass filters. The AMSOIL BMK-17 (http://www.lubricationspecialist.com/product_info.php?cPath=31_18&products_id=22) and OilGuard (http://www.oilguard.com/Chevy.php?PHPSESSID=be7bf262452b075e2152bf4f62f2d1 01) bypass products are popular choices. I’ve been pleased with the OilGuard on my 03 (http://community.webshots.com/album/65003591xTSYrR)... UOAs (http://home.usadatanet.net/~jbplock/ISO/DMAX_UOA.PDF) have been doing well with it.

Also try searching the forum for more info…

I installed an Oilguard 5000 miles ago (truck has 101K) and the oil looks like I changed it yesterday...

One of a list of things I wish I had done the first month...

I have an Oilguard as well. It appears to be doing what it is supposed to. The longest I
